WOMAN ARRAIGNED FOR GRAND
THEFT OF AN ELDER AND CONDUCTING REAL ESTATE WITHOUT A LICENSE

Tina Marie Horan, 43, was arraigned in the Shasta County
Superior Court on Friday, May 7, 2010.
She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on 5/20/10. Mrs. Horan, a
former Real Estate Agent, is charged with Grand Theft, Grand Theft of an Elder,
writing checks on non-sufficient funds and conducting real estate without a
real estate license.
An
investigation, conducted by the District Attorney’s Real Estate Fraud Unit,
found that Mrs. Horan was conducting business as a Property Manager without a
real estate license. While conducting the property management business,
Mrs. Horan took money from the clients for whom she was managing residential
dwellings. It is estimated that Mrs.
Horan took in excess of $30,000.00 from her clients, including an elderly woman
from
California Business and Professions Code 10130 makes it unlawful for any person to engage in the business, act in the capacity of, advertise or assume to act as a real estate broker or a real estate salesman within this state without first obtaining a real estate license from the California Department of Real Estate.
